The Great Fire of KPA

The children in Year 1 have been learning about the Great Fire of London. To celebrate their learning, they made amazing houses, which represented the houses in 1666. KPA then set fire to the houses, showing the children how quickly the houses set alight!

A few facts about the Great Fire of London:

The Great Fire of London started in September, 1666 – it began in a Bakery in Pudding Lane and spread across London (WOW!)

The reason it spread so quickly was because the wind was super strong, the buildings stood close together, and were made from wood.

“My favourite thing was how the houses burnt!” Lydia, 1RW

“I felt so bad for the people and houses”, Nicole, 1RW

Here are some pictures of the children’s excellent models…and the Great Fire of KPA!
